La Martinière College (Boys), Lucknow, established in 1845 per the Will of Major General Claude Martin, is one of India's most historic and elite boys' day-cum-boarding schools. Affiliated with CISCE (ICSE/ISC), it is the only school in the world to have been awarded a Royal Battle Honour – 'Defence of Lucknow' – for its role in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. Known as the 'Eton of the East', the school has ~4,000 boys (Nursery to Class XII) across its Junior School Campus and the iconic Constantia Campus.
Description
La Martinière College, La Martinière Road, Martin Purva, Lucknow – 226001, was founded in accordance with the Will of Major General Claude Martin, a French adventurer and HEICS officer. The historic Constantia building, a nine-storey French Baroque palace on the west bank of the Gomti river, now houses the Middle and Senior sections along with boarding facilities for resident scholars.
